Shared Kitchen Incubator

NurtiCore has embarked on the development of the Shared Kitchen Incubator of York (YorKitchen).  It will be a unique service to residents of the City of York and the surrounding Central Pennsylvania area. To be located downtown, YorKitchen is a commercial kitchen available for rent to any food producer as well as extensive educational training. YorKitchen will not only stimulate small business growth in the city, county and surrounding area, but nurture it as well with entrepreneurial incubator services provided by the Entrepreneurial Support Alliance.

Who would use the kitchen?

YorKitchen together with the numerous community organizations, who provide assistance to low income residents, will be providing extensive educational programs to cover topics of nutrition and healthy food options. The Kitchen will also provide workforce training opportunities and the ability to begin their own enterprise at low cost.

YorKitchen incubator will provide significant benefits to food manufacturing entrepreneurs and agricultural producers. Many food producers do not have the resources to build and equip their own certified facility. This prevents many potential businesses from entering the market while others are illegally producing food items in unlicensed home kitchens. A kitchen incubator will help solve these problems. A kitchen incubator will also lower operating costs for food producers. Lease payments will be less because tenants pay only for the time they actually use the facility. Overhead and equipment costs will be a shared cost between all kitchen tenants. The kitchen incubator will also meet Federal and State laws and regulations.
