To Provide:

* An incubator for foods and nutrition research and development concepts and directions for the NorthEast.

* A prototype for successful development and management of R&D funds from multiple sources.

* A coalescing program manager with a database of concurrent research and the resources to build and coordinate development teams.

* Where federal agencies start when they have a need for nutritional or nutraceutical development.

* Where industry starts when it needs resources of any kind.

* An expandable asset for the USDA; and ultimately for the FDA, CDC, DoD, HHS, NIH, NSF et al.

-THE MISSION -

1) To coordinate services to both industry and government agencies to maximize their investments in food or nutrition R&D.

2) To promote collaborative, focused research and development in areas of foods and nutrition.

3) To provide whatever facilitation is necessary to achieve the goals of the National Nutrition Strategy through effective management of resources, assets and expertise.

4) In a public/private partnership, create a far-reaching, challenging, National Nutrition Strategy and the roadmap necessary to accomplish the ultimate and interim goals of that strategy.
